Stock Camera vs GCam Port on Oppo A55
It can never happen that the default stock camera app is totally useless on a phone.
So, same is the case with the default stock camera app on our Oppo A55 phone. This camera app has some good things that can never be replaced by a GCam port.
The UltraRes photo mode captures images at 50MP resolution on the Oppo Camera and the software compatibility for all camera sensors are two important aspects of the default camera software application.
The Oppo Camera also has a PRO mode available for photo and Night mode that allows you to control the shutter speed, ISO, AWB etc. which will be helpful for you if you know what are these settings and how to use them.
In addition to the above, the stock camera also has a Ultra Macro mode that allows you to capture close up photos of flowers, insects, objects etc. and the Filter mode allows you to add artificial layering on the photo.
Other features like Dual view image capture and video recording, adding watermark to images and videos.
On the other hand, Google Camera’s HDR+ enhanced is the rockstar feature that creates balanced and natural looking images.
Also, the latest versions of the GCam port brings you Night Sight, Astrophotography, multiple video stabilization options, cinematic pan and other professional grade photo and video features.
Now that you have a basic idea on what you will get by installing a GCam apk on Oppo A55, let’s look at all the available APKs that really works on the phone.

Conclusion
Let’s summarize what is good and what is better for you.
The stock Camera app on Oppo A55 has some advantage of features like the super slow motion, Pro camera mode and software compatibility for the camera sensors etc.
On the other hand the GCam port on Oppo A55 phone brings a lot of good things in terms of performance and features equally but it is not compatible with all the sensors.
Having said that, if you are taking a shot in good lighting conditions, you can choose the GCam for selfies, natural scenes. You can also use GCam’s Night sight if you are taking a picture in the low light.
If you want manual control of the image or if you want a super slow motion video, then the Oppo camera is best.
Finally, it is not that the Google Camera port app will replace the Oppo camera entirely on your Oppo A55 phone. In fact, you need both these apps on different scenic situations.
